Trim, split, slip, ripple-delete and drag clips between tracks. Drop modes decide what happens when a clip lands on another: overwrite, insert, crossfade, replace or snap to a marker.

Your activation code (CHZ-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX) is emailed the moment the payment goes through, with your GST invoice.
Install Chalchitraz, click Create account and use THE SAME email address you paid with. Confirm it from the message we send, then log in.
It runs on that PC for a year from the day you activate it. Bought it during your free month? The paid year starts when the free month ends. To move to a new PC, log in there and release the old one from inside the program.
Use the same email everywhere. The code is tied to the address you pay with, and the account you create in the program must use that address.

What's new in 1.2.0
- New: Script Writer (AI > Script Writer). Choose an advertisement, film script, web series, podcast, article or your own kind, as many as you like. Chalchitraz writes the scenes, the dialogue and an exact prompt for every shot (2 to 15 seconds), suggests the best AI video service for each shot, and makes the footage straight into your library. A window shows each shot being made.
- Add your actors with a photo, and they keep the same face from shot to shot.
- Start from a script you already have: import a PDF or Word file (also .doc, .odt, .rtf and text), or paste it in. A finished script is split into shots without any AI account.
- New: the command box at the top of the window (Ctrl+/). Type what you want, even several steps at once ("select the second clip, then speed it up 2x, then fade in 1 second"), and Chalchitraz does it. Anything that would cost money or close your project is checked with you first.
- New: Publish menu. Chalchitraz finds the best frames of your film and makes thumbnails in 11 ready-made sizes (YouTube, Shorts, Instagram, Facebook and more), or any size you choose, right on your PC. It can also write titles, a description, keywords, hashtags, a caption and chapters with your own AI account.
- New: Reverse Edit (Ctrl+Alt+R). Edit your film from the end towards the beginning. The film itself stays as it was.
- New: Visual Editing Map (Ctrl+Alt+V). See your shots as cards in story order and drag one to reorder the film.
- Fixed: with Ripple Edit switched on, dropping a clip onto another no longer asked how to place it, so Crossfade and Replace had disappeared. It asks again.
Create with AI, the Script Writer and the titles and descriptions in Publish use your own account with the provider you choose; that provider charges you for what you create. Thumbnails made on your PC, splitting a finished script into shots, Reverse Edit and the Visual Editing Map need no AI account.

It means Chalchitraz never sells you AI credits. The AI generation features run on your own account with the provider you choose — OpenAI, Google Gemini, Google Veo, Kling, Runway, PixVerse, Seedance, Stability AI, ElevenLabs and others — and that provider charges you directly, at their price, with no limit invented by us. Chalchitraz itself is still paid software: the licence on this page is what you pay us.
No. The editor, the timeline, grading, chroma key, titles, transitions, speech to text, the video enhancer, video denoise, thumbnails made on your PC, splitting a finished script into shots, Reverse Edit and the Visual Editing Map all work without any AI account. You only need a key for the features that write or generate: new video, pictures, voice-overs, scripts, and titles or descriptions for publishing. Your AI provider charges you for those.
No, and we would rather say so here than surprise you. Your editing happens on your PC, but the program needs the internet to activate and for a silent check-in when it starts, at least once a month. Generating with AI also goes out to the provider you connected.
